位於新屋鄉笨港村的天后宮，是清光緒四年，由黃吳水等三十人各出穀一石做基金而創立，所奉祀的媽祖神像，是由南部北港朝天宮香火分來的，天后宮有一尊天上聖母的神像，是全世界最高的，約有十丈高。
